Super Bowl Goes to Los Angeles In 2027
The game at SoFi Stadium means that the region will host the World Cup, Super Bowl and Olympics in three consecutive years.

The NFL says that Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium will host the 2027 Super Bowl, a move that will make L.A. the center of the sports universe for the second half of the 2020s.
The 2027 Super Bowl will be broadcast by ABC and ESPN, the first time the Disney-owned channels host the biggest game on the NFL calendar, and the most-watched TV event of the year. SoFi Stadium hosted its first Super Bowl in 2022, with the hometown Los Angeles Rams defeating the Cincinnati Bengals.

SoFi’s next Super Bowl also means that Los Angeles will host arguably the three biggest sporting events in the world in back to back to back years. In 2026, Los Angeles will be one of the cities hosting the FIFA World Cup (it isn’t clear if it will be SoFi Stadium or another venue in the area); in 2027 SoFi will host the Super Bowl, and in 2028 the city will host the Olympics, with SoFi Stadium set to be home to the opening ceremonies and other events.

The FIFA World Cup and the Olympics are the biggest global sporting events, viewed around the world, and garnering 10s of millions of viewers in the U.S. The Super Bowl, meanwhile, routinely garners over 100 million viewers in the U.S. alone.
The NFL also houses its west coast operations at a facility adjacent to SoFi Stadium, as featured in The Hollywood Reporter’s September cover story featuring commissioner Roger Goodell.
