TidalWave Comics reveals a new era — or rather, cover — for its upcoming Taylor Swift bio comic.
The variant reveals come a month after Female Force: Taylor Swift, the latest title from the TidalWave’s biographical comic series, was first announced. Penned by Eric M. Esquivel and illustrated by Ramon Salas, the 22-page comic is set to launch on Dec. 13, coinciding with Swift’s 34th birthday and following a year for the recent Golden Globe-nominee’s that saw her shattering touring, ticketing and streaming records.
The independent comic book publisher previously teased the paperback cover featuring original art from Salas in November, alongside an announcement of the hardcover edition, which will feature an alternative cover from DC and Marvel Comics artist Yonami. The newest variant, sold as an eBay exclusive, comes from Pablo Martinena, and serves as an homage to Marvel Comics’ “Dazzler” #1 — a nod to speculation she may appear in Deadpool 3 as the hero.

“Of course, Taylor Swift deserves her own comic book,” Esquivel said in a statement timed to the comic’s initial announcement. “She wears colorful tights and fights corporate villains who try to use their money to control her. The only other person who fits that description is Clark Kent… and even he couldn’t have written 1989.”
According to the publisher, the biographic comic will chronicle the award-winning singer-songwriter’s journey to global success, from her first record deal at 14, while also paying tribute to Swift’s “championing charitable endeavors,” as well as how she “holds her fans dear” and stands “as a beacon of empowerment within the entertainment realm.”
It will pay special attention to her wildly successful Eras Tour, which also set records at the box office this winter with Swift’s concert film earning $250 million globally on a $15 million budget. That film is also set to become available to rent on demand Wednesday and will feature three bonus songs not seen in theaters.
Swift joins the likes of Dolly Parton, Tina Turner, Gloria Steinem, Cher, Oprah Winfrey, Billie Eilish and more who have been featured as part of TidalWave’s Female Force series, which highlights both accomplished and influential personalities including authors, business leaders, entertainers, journalists, politicians and activists from diverse backgrounds.
Female Force: Taylor Swift is available through online retailers including Amazon and Barnes & Noble, as well as for digital download on Kindle, iTunes, EPIC!, ComiXology and more.
